The East Sea-Dokdo Promotion Center consists of a variety of educational materials and exhibits that illuminate not only the characteristics and value of Republic of Korea’s Dokdo, but also those of the surrounding East Sea, which is called “a miniature ocean.”

The promotion center provides visitors with all sorts of information through graphic panels and dioramas, with titles, such as “The East Sea and Seawater Circulation,” “The East Sea Seen with Numbers and Names,” “The Sea Currents of Dokdo and Aquatic Life,” and “The Ground and Submarine Topography of Dokdo.”

In particular, the Dokdo 4D Simulation Center allows people to experience marine phenomenon and changes in the ecosystem around Dokdo and adjacent waters. It can be utilized as a science experience center for teenagers.

Chan Hong Park, the President of the KIOST East Sea Research Center said, “I expect the East Sea-Dokdo Promotion Center to play a role in raising the interest of teenagers and adults in the East Sea and Dokdo.”

The promotion center is open from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays (closed on weekends) and admission is free. For more detailed information, please visit the official website of the KIOST East Sea Research Center. (http://esri.kiost.ac)
